Barcode Labels
At Cal West we carry a vast assortment of the most common stock barcode label sizes and configuration in both major OEM brand name and compatibles. They are affordably priced and ready for immediate shipment. Many of our high-quality blank stock labels are manufactured to meet or exceed the industry standards, and are ISO certified, using GMP production methods. From our ultra-smooth bright white face-sheet and adhesives of our premium quality pressure sensitive face-stocks to the precision die-cutting, and roll rewinding of our converting process, our stock labels offer a premium solution to any application where high performance is needed in the identifying and tracking process.
Thermal Transfer
As the name implies, thermal transfer Barcode labels require the heat transfer ribbon ink via the Printhead to the label face sheet to produce a printed image. This label printing method used on blank, stock paper labels can offer more durability, and flexibility with a wider range of face stocks. Also commonly used in shipping, distribution, and retail etc. where only moderate range use and durability is required.
Direct Thermal
Direct thermal stock labels use the direct print method and do not require a ribbon to produce the print image. This is made possible by a heat activated chemical reaction, in a specially treated paper that produces a black image in the pigment of the label's surface. Without the need of a ribbon, this can often be a more cost-effective way to print labels and is often better suited for certain applications where extra durability is not required or the label's useful life cycle is shorter. Shipping, and address labels for example meet these criteria.
Standard Features and configurations: The majority of blank, stock thermal transfer, and direct thermal labels are made with a top-coated paper face stock, with a general-purpose permanent adhesive, and are primarily finished on a 8" OD roll with a 3" dia. core compatible with industrial printers. However, we also stock many other popular roll and core diameters as determined by the specific mobile, or portable printer model and brand being used. Additionally, certain sizes are finished in fan folded configurations as well.
